Developing a strong brand image can help increasing your profit margin and help you realise a higher price if you should one day decide to sell your business.
How to do it
Firstly, break it down in to two parts, Organisation and Marketing.
The Organisation covers aspects such as structure and people this will be reflected in how you operate. A good example of this is Franchisors who encourage their franchisees to operate in a strict uniform way, by doing so they are continually broadcasting the same message and therefore reinforcing the brand.
Your Marketing should be centred on a strong visual image preferably supported by a strap line. You may have some good ideas but it is best to get these designed by a professional graphic designer.

Insist the graphic designer chooses a typeface, preferably one which is also available on your PC. A good graphic designer will create guidelines as to how any future design is to be adhered to. Take Control
Lastly, take control of your media and guard it jealously (just like the big boys). Insist that your house style is replicated as faithfully as possible. This attention to detail on a regular basis continually reinforces your brand.
